one

so it's the weekend and we are really into the new year aren't we? so while relaxing in the tub tonight i came to realise that last year was pretty much over before it started. yes a few lovely things happened, we got milo our crazy hound, we bought our forever home up north, tim stopped work, i finally was allowed although temporary initially, to work 4 days instead of 5 and most importantly we got my little dad into a nice place he could call home, where he will be safe, cared and looked after and my little mum could finally breath. but bar those milestones the year flashed by and all i can remember was that i spent a large part of it in work and not doing stuff really for me or my family/friends.
so with the one more day i have snatched back for me i have decided i should do one thing each week for me.  at the end of each week i will share what i chose to do for me and share on here as a post entitled:

to make it easy for myself i think it maybe good that i list the seven of those one things that i could do:

number 1 - take one photo of myself or something that makes me smile that week
number 2 - change one thing
number 3 - watch one new film
number 4 - finish one book
number 5 - learn one new thing
number 6 - start one form of exercise
number 7 - do one thing together with either of my fellas and little lady

i really want to remember 2015, i don't want to feel that it slipped through my fingers, we do have a lot happening this year with plans to move up north so a good time to record a few of those changes.

i think this could be really a new start for the blog too, one thing is for sure that i will have to make time for it and you never know i may just get a few more followers also.  may be not quite so many as these guys:

the things you are passionate about are not random, but your calling

make it happen

simple things help to achieve it:

1. added trains to the morning commuting schedule
2. a good husband and puppy who fills you with smiles each day
3. the sun is out
4. an empty carriage with room for your bike and coffee
5. cross city commute on a bike where the timing is all up to you
6. anticipation of chats over coffee with work colleagues after day out of the office
7. laughter
8. and time to breathe

have a great one

well we are one but two... but in 9 weeks time we will be one but three.
this is what 9 days into this world looks like for one of the one but three... which one?
we don't know yet. but they are all damn cute.

packing away

this year has been so quick. everything we have accomplished seems to have run away with itself.
i really can't believe that we are nearing the last month of the year and that we are already 142 days married.
i picked up my clean wedding dress today and tim's wedding shirt. that really is the last money to be spent on the whole event. although i am still deliberating over what to do about an album as i love all 657 photos we got from the girl that is emma case photography, this may have to roll into 2014, so i am parking that piece for now.  the boxed wedding dress saddens me... but at the same time makes me realise that we are moving on with our lives and I am looking forward to that, i just hope it doesn't go quite so quick.

the piece of this year that really has run away with itself is my little dad's condition.  i am hoping that as we are nearing a cold spell in the year that something magical freezes the speed of his deterioation and for a moment the whole experience falls into some kind of suspended animation phase.  i want to hold on to the man i have always known for a little bit longer.  i am so grateful that i was able to experience that person on our big day and that the point I fear he is now at didn't rear its ugly head until now. i am still hopeful that the rapid decline is drug induced and thereby reversible. i love this man and it just doesn't seem fair.

on a positive note with the speed of the year upon us we are now at that time where we can start making plans for the white stuff. one trip booked already the ski moon and another just being collated.  what better to finish a speedy year with a swoosh down a few mountain sides. can't wait!!
