so lots of things have happened since march, tim has stopped work, i only work 2 days in london now and the rest i work from home. we live in our forever place the lake district.   importantly our little holiday home in the little bustling lakeland town of windermere, is now getting ready to be a holiday cottage for others. i am pretty excited about this as this was our getaway and now others will be able to enjoy the same feeling we did each time we came back.

so we are slowly putting back some more character into the house with new carpets, coving, fixtures and fittings.  it's even had a new lick of paint.  i am proud of what we have achieved so far and it truly will be a home away from home for all those who come to stay.
we will be sourcing "lush cosmetics" bathroom products which guests will be able to use while they stay or take away with them if they choose and the bathroom will be filled with plump fresh christy towels, always a favourite of mums.
the cottage may be small but it is perfectly formed and once inside you will think you are in the tardis.
we are aiming to be up and running when the 2015 summer holiday season really kicks in, so all the late holiday bookers may just find this gem in windermere, right up their street or even in the corner of their street!

a website will go live the minute it's ready

but we are already social

this country life was made for us

forever home...

yesterday we received exciting news that a small part of the english lake district will possibly become our resting place.
our offer on a house was accepted and we now just have to make sure its solid and the finances are all in place.
a sneak peak of what we fell in love with is below.
it will, with a lot of love, a lot of imagination and a lot of passion become a place where we can rest our heads and breathe.
so with fingers and anything else crossed, we move ever closer to our dream!

the things you are passionate about are not random, but your calling

Far Away Home- day 12 & 13 all rolled into one

These two day prompts are very well expressed by one picture.

In fact one picture expresses the two prompts in 3 different ways for me, let me explain:

1. Far away- well it feels like this moment  is far away in time, although not lost in memory... This photo was taken in our beloved Lake District the morning after our wedding day... It's just over a month since and I would jump at the chance to relive that weekend again... It was awesome from start to finish!

2. Home - the Lake District really feels like home to me, we have our second home there. London, is still kinda special but the older we get it feels less like home. Whereas the Lake District touches my heart and where my feet feel grounded and I smile the most.

3. Faraway home - getting to what we call our resting place really does feel like that far away home, just out of reach, around the corner and not quite there at the moment. I/We are really counting every single day down until we make the place not so far away and truly OUR HOME!
