cereal for breakfast

How many of us have the time to have a cuppa let alone a bowl of cereal in the mornings?

I try desperately to get up that 5 -10 mins earlier to fuel the body before the day's onslaught, but find myself hit the snooze button at least 3 times making that 5-10 mins early more like 5-10 mins late.

I know breakfast is supposed to be the best meal of the day, but I just cant cope with the thought of a cold uninviting kitchen floor and warm milk!! Yes, even if you do get up early to eat Asda's own brand honey nut branflakes, the milk is never as cold as you would like it and you end up wishing you had hit the snooze button on your alarm 3 times after all.

The only thing that seems to get me up early in the morning these days is some hedonistic aerobic workout that they call spinning! I admit it only entices me to get up early once a week, but it gets me up more than the toast and jam in the morning. Then I battle with the next 45 mins of resistance cycling and the thoughts of how much more of a dick my instructor can make of himself that week. I mean he came in last week with a T-shirt on saying dont be fat be fit.... DUH, what was that all about? Surely the T-Shirt wasnt pointed at us? I mean isnt the reason why the 10 of us dragged ourselves out of bed 3/4 of an hour early, skipped the porridge 'n honey and came to listen to duff duff music because we didnt want to be fat anymore??

Anyway I digress, I can count the number of times I have had cereal in the past month on one hand! So why do the supermarkets dedicate an aisle to the stuff, when I believe the most of us dont get the chance to eat it? Dont tell me its for the kids, because half of it isnt sugar coated, neither is it exquisitly shaped into your favourite cartoon character or superhero and only a small percentage is chocolate coated. The majority is Special K, Special Z, Special Y sort of cereal or bran designed in various forms to make you think bran can be tasty! I am not living the cereal dream! Am I missin out people??
